The measurement of vital signs is a nursing service that allows the health care provider to measure the general condition related to the patient’s health status.

The main vital parameters that are usually measured are body temperature, heart rate (the pulse) and blood pressure. In case it is deemed necessary, the measurement of vital parameters also includes the respiratory rate.
