In order to certify the ability to possess firearms (firearms certificate), it is necessary for the patient to undergo a medical examination aimed at verifying the basic psychophysical requirements essential for the activity to be carried out.
During the examination, the competent physician checks the general condition of the patient in addition to the patient’s visual and hearing abilities. In case the patient has particular medical conditions, it is advisable to bring along reports of previously performed examinations or specialized tests. At times, the Medical Officer in charge may require additional examinations or specialist examinations before issuing the certificate of fitness.
