The sports medical examination for obtaining a sports medical certificate attesting to patient’s fitness to engage in competitive or non-competitive sports activity is essential to protect and evaluate the athlete’s physical health.

The certificate for sports fitness is issued by the Sports Physician, a professional with expertise in various areas such as pulmonology, cardiology, endocrinology, physiatry and orthopedics.

The Sports medical certificate for fitness for sports activities, which is issued following the examination, has Annual validity. The assessments for the issuance of the sports medical certificate for competitive activity provide for a general control, the blood pressure measurement in addition to the electrocardiogram at rest, during and after exertion performed on the cycle ergometer, the urine examination (which is performed at the examination stage), the evaluation of the visual acuity and the spirometry. This certificate also includes the maximal exercise test (TEM – Maximal Ergometric Test) aimed at assessing the function of the patient’s heart during intense exercise.

At the examination stage, should the Sports Physician deem it necessary, he or she may prescribe more in-depth examinations to better assess the patient’s condition before issuing the certificate attesting to the patient’s fitness for the sports activity practiced or to be practiced.

The Professional Practice of Sports Medicine of Dr. Paola Francesca Sarchi, located at Euromedica Assistance, allows you to obtain certificates for fitness for noncompetitive and competitive sports (for sports that fall under category B1, for example: soccer, tennis, swimming, track and field, etc.).

At check-in for the issuance of a sports medical certificate for competitive activity, it is necessary to bring with you:
